M.S. Dhoni Resigns as Indian Cricket Team Captain & It’s Sad

Mahinder Singh Dhoni, the man whom we all know as the captain of Indian cricket team has just quit his role by putting in a resignation from the post of captaincy. The news has spread like fire and the news of Dhoni quitting as the captain is trending on social media channels – Facebook and Twitter.

While the decision to step down as the captain has been finalised, Dhoni will however be available as a wicket keeper and will participate for the team selections in upcoming cricket matches.

BCCI has confirmed the news through a formal press release.

In a statement, BCCI has said that Mahender Singh Dhoni has wished to step down as the Indian Cricket team captain. The official release says that Dhoni wishes to quit his captaincy for One-Day International matched and T20 International matches. It is assumed that he might still lead Indian cricket team in the test matches.

Here are some interesting facts about M.S. Dhoni while being the captain of Indian cricket team:

Dhoni played 199 ODIs as the captain of India and won 110 matches. He lost 74 matches from the total. If we talk about T-20 international matches, then Dhoni played 72 matches out of which India won 41. Now, that is an excellent track record as a captain.

We are not sure about the reasons that why M.S. Dhoni has quit the role of captain in Indian cricket team, but what can be said that this man deserves a salute for his performance.
