If you are travelling in Rajdhani or Shatabdi Express anywhere across in India and do not wish to eat the food served by the train’s pantry then here is the good news for you. The Indian Railways has kicked off the optional meals for the passengers from today, wherein anyone can order fast food including pizzas, burgers, wrap, dosas and even the special thalis from some of the famous F&B chains who have tied up with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
The idea behind starting this service in the longer distance trains like Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express is to promote e-catering on board where passengers can order food of their choice. That is the reason why the fares of Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains have been lowered by the Indian Railways excluding the option of fast food to be served to the passengers on board.
