Madame Tussauds Delhi to Feature Legendary Actress Madhubala’s Wax Statue

Delhi’s Madame Tussauds will feature legendary actress Madhubala’s Wax Statue. Madhubala was one of the leading actresses of the yesteryears. Madhubala was also among one of the finest actresses of the Hindi film industry. Madhubala will join the Bollywood brigade at Madame Tussauds, Delhi and will share space with other legendary actor and famous persons from across the world.

Madhubala’s Wax Statue at Delhi’s Madame Tussauds 

Madhubala, one of the leading actresses of the Hindi cinema’s golden era, who is the next person to join the Bollywood brigade at the Madame Tussauds, Delhi had appeared in numerous classics such as ‘Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi’, ‘Kala Paani’, ‘Mr. & Mrs. ’55’, ‘Howrah Bridge’ etc. As a gesture to honour the mega star – Madhubala, Madame Tussauds decided to feature a wax statue of the legendary actress in the Delhi Madame Tussauds. Most active between 1942 and 1962, Madhubala became one of the highly regarded personalities in the Hindi film industry. She has been renowned for her iconic role of ‘Anarkali’ in the movie Mughal-E-Azam. It was Mughal-E-Azam that marked Madhubala as the doomed courtesan for her greatest and definitive characterization as Anarkali.

Madhubala’s Bollywood voyage

Madhubala portrayed numerous roles in classic movies which include hits like Mughal-E-Azam, Howrah Bridge, Kala Paani, Half Ticket and others. After starting her Bollywood voyage as a child artist in the year 1942 from movie Basant there was no looking back for Madhubala. Often considered as the most iconic female celebrity of Hindi cinema, Madhubala was termed as one of the most beautiful actresses in the Hindi film industry. Madhubala has been highly regarded as ‘The Venus of Indian Cinema’. She started her career in 1942 and her last movie, Jwala, was released in 1971 posthumously.

Delhi’s Madame Tussauds Museum which is located in the heart of the national capital – Connaught Place, is situated at the Regal Cinema. Madame Tussauds in Delhi comprise the wax figures of numerous national as well as international icons. Besides Madhubala, other Bollywood stars who are already in the list of stars to be included in the Madame Tussauds Museum in Delhi include Shehenshah of Bollywood- Amitabh Bachchan, King Khan – Shah Rukh along with singers like Shreya Ghoshal, Asha Bhonsle et al.
