Mahindra To Launch XUV 700 | Will Take On Toyota Fortuner And Ford Endeavour

Mahindra is all set to introduce a new SUV in India in coming years which will compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. The new SUV will apparently be called the XUV 700 and will the most premium offering by the company in the Indian market. There are also reports that the Mahindra XUV 700 is essentially the Ssangyong Rexton which will come to India with a Mahindra name plate. Apparently the company does not want to reintroduce the Ssangyong brand in India due to poor response.

Mahindra XUV 700 features and specifications:

The Ssangyong Rexton 2017 that is essentially the car that the Mahindra XUV 700 is based on is already on sale in markets like Korea and we think the same car will make it to India with a few changes. Talking about the mechanicals of the new car, it comes with a 2.2 litre turbocharged diesel engine 189BHP and a 420Nm of torque.

Since it is a Mahindra we expect it to come with both two wheel drive and four wheel drive options like on the Rexton sold in Korea. What the Ssangyong name tag do for the XUV 700 is that the car will be the most premium offering by Mahindra in the country till date. There will be a generous use of faux leather on the dashboard and door handles as well as the most luxurious cabin in the Mahindra portfolio.

Mahindra XUV 700 price and Launch date

The Mahindra XUV when pitched against the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour will make a strong case for itself as it will be priced lower to these premium offerings by up to 2 Lakh Rupees. With the kind of success Mahindra has had with the XUV 500 it is likely the success will be repeated with the XUV 700 as well since it too will offer huge value for money.

Expect the Mahindra XUV 700 to land in India by the end of 2019 or early 2020, since the company is focusing on only electric vehicles and a couple cars for now. Mahindra will launch an all-new MPV to compete against the Innova Crysta by early next year.
