Homegrown automaker Mahindra and Mahindra is all set to showcase its premium SUV XUV 700 at the upcoming auto expo in the national capital Delhi. The Mahindra XUV700 is expected to make its India debut next month at the much-anticipated auto show in the country.

Automaker Mahindra is expected to launch its premium SUV XUV700 in India at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo. According to the report, the carmaker is working on a new flagship SUV. The report further mentions that this new SUV has been codenamed as Y400. Though it has not been officially announced by the company yet the launch of this premium SUV by Mahindra is expected to take place by 2020.
The new SUV was earlier showcased at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. SsangYong, Mahindra’s subsidiary had showcased this new SUV as a new concept that was named LIV-2. The company translates it as Limitless Interface Vehicle. It has been reported that this concept will be sold as new generation Rexton SUV in the international market, and Mahindra XUV700 in the Indian market.

Mahindra XUV700 competition in India and expected price
A per the report, Mahindra’s subsidiary SsangYong launched the production ready variant of the same SUV last year. This new SUV that made its global debut in 2017 was launched in the international market as the new generation SsangYong Rexton.
The new flagship SUV will be launched in India, as a Mahindra vehicle and will most likely be badged as the Mahindra XUV700. The new premium SUV will sit above the existing Mahindra XUV500. The price of the new product in the Mahindra lineup has not been announced yet but it is expected to compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. The SUV will make it Indian debut at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo next month.
Under the hood and other specifications of the new SUV
The Mahindra XUV700 is expected to get the 2.2-litre Euro 6 diesel engine which will be tuned to churn out 181 PS power and a peak torque of 420 Nm. The diesel is expected to come mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and on the safety front, the SUV will come equipped with nine airbags for complete safety.
