Homegrown automaker Mahindra & Mahindra has been reported to be investing huge to develop new electric vehicles in the county. As per the report, the auto manufacturer is currently developing three new electric vehicles which are slated to be unveiled in the coming year. One of the electric vehicles which are under development is the new Mahindra XUV Aero.
According to the report, it has been officially validated that Mahindra will be soon launching the new electric vehicle in India. Recently more details about the Mahindra XUV Aero were revealed that have gone viral on the digital platform. One of the reports also mentions that the new electric XUV Aero is all set to be launched before 2020 in the country.
Mahindra XUV Aero Electric SUV to be launched in India
After the automaker, Mahindra showcased the XUV Aero concept at the 2016 Auto Expo, the vehicle has been in limelight for several reasons. One of the major attractions of the vehicle was its design. Though Mahindra had showcased the Mahindra XUV Aero that had an internal combustion engine, but the company is now developing the electric variant of the Mahindra XUV Aero which is slated to be launched in India soon.
Recently Mahindra announced a huge investment in the electric vehicle segment and the new vehicles from the Mahindra & Mahindra stable will surely strengthen the automaker’s position in the segment.
Specifications of the Mahindra XUV Aero Electric SUV
After several major car manufacturers decided to switch to the production of electric vehicles, Mahindra too, is focusing on the electric vehicle segment. This is one of the reasons why it decided to produce an electric variant of the SUV- XUV Aero. Company’s flagship electric vehicle- XUV Aero will showcase Mahindra’s potential in developing and manufacturing high-performance electric vehicles. As per the report, the electric Mahindra XUV Aero will have a good driving range and will be quick as well.
The electric XUV Aero is expected to churn out around 200bhp and 400Nm of peak torque. With powerful tuning, the electric XUV Aero will be able of touch from 0-100km/h in only 8 seconds. This power will make the new electric vehicle quicker than the existing Mahindra XUV500. It is being claimed that the electric Mahindra XUV Aero will be the fastest vehicle ever produced by the automaker.
Features of the Mahindra XUV Aero Electric SUV
The new XUV Aero electric is likely to touch a top speed of 190km/h and a single charge would deliver a driving range of about 300km. The five-seater SUV will get a coupe-style design and is likely to come equipped with a host of luxurious interior and attractive features.
On the price front, the new electric XUV Aero is speculated to be the most expensive electric vehicle in the country and Mahindra is likely to launch it with a price range starting from Rs 20 lakh. There are possibilities that the car manufacturer might showcase the new electric vehicle at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo.
