Last year, more than 35 lakh tourists visited Manali, including Indian and foreign tourists. As per the president of Manali Hoteliers Association, January and February have been the best month for Manali in terms of tourists. He said that due to the heavy snowfall in Manali in January, the tourists got a negative message. He assured that as everything is fine now as the workers are engaged in renovation work and Manali is all set to welcome the tourists again.
Tourists Prefer Manali Throughout The Year
Things have changed a lot in Manali in the past ten years. Ten years back people visiting Manali had to sleep in their vehicles or had to go out of the town in search of an accommodation when all the hotels were booked. Manali has developed rapidly over the years as the hotels, guesthouses, and home stays in Manali have a capacity of almost 25,000 beddings. The hotels in Manali have all the categories and the room prices are cheaper than many other hill stations.
The number of tourists who visited Manali:
- In 2011 = Around 10 Lakh tourists visited Manali.
- In 2012 = 1.44 lakh foreign tourists visited Manali.
The deputy director of Tourism department said that a lot of tourists are visiting Kullu-Manali every year. The tourists do not face problems in Manali when it comes to searching for an accommodation as the number of hotels has increased.
The main reason of tourists visiting Manali is that Manali has snowfall throughout the year.
