India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki recently launched the new variant of Celerio christened as the Celerio X. Due to the price variation, the CelerioX directly rivals the Renault Kwid that has already been launched in India.
The much-awaited four-wheeler from the Maruti Suzuki stable – the Celerio X has been launched in India at an initial price of Rs. 4.57 lakh (Delhi ex-showroom). Based on the existing Celerio hatchback the CelerioX gets several visual changes that add more muscle to the CelerioX besides making it rugged and sporty. The Kwid comes with fog light as standard while the CelerioX offers rear window wiper, washer and defogger in addition to the outside rear view mirror turn indicators.

Both the Maruti Suzuki CelerioX and the Renault Kwid gets heavy cladding all around. The Maruti Suzuki CelerioX gets a silver finished faux skid plate. Both the Celerio X and the Kwid get roof rails while the CelerioX comes with a new tail lamp design and grille.
The Celerio X comes equipped with all-new blacked out alloy wheels in the top-end variant. The Celerio X gets a fresh new appeal and is more muscular than the Celerio. The Renault Kwid too gets the SUV-like stance in the offering that makes it one of the most liked hatchbacks in the segment. The Kwid has been one of company’s most selling cars.
Interior – Maruti Suzuki Celerio X vs Renault Kwid
The Maruti Suzuki CelerioX gets several features that come as standard and makes the car a better option. Maruti Suzuki is offering CD player, ABS (AntiLock Braking System) and leather seats that are missing in the Renault Kwid. Features such as central locking, power steering and power windows come as standard in both the cars. The Celerio X also gets Outside Temperature Display. In terms of additional features while the CelerioX comes with sun visor and Audio controls on the steering wheel the Renault Kwid offers attractive features such as 4-speed blower and 5-position air distribution with chrome ring knobs, Rear parcel tray along with Auto on/off cabin light timer & fade out.
Under the hood – Maruti Suzuki Celerio X vs Renault Kwid
Both the Maruti Suzuki Celerio X and the Renault Kwid get almost similar 3-Cylinders, 4-valve, 1.0-litre engine. In terms of power both the cars churn out similar power. While the Celerio X produces 67.04bhp@6000rpm of power and 90Nm@3500rpm of peak torque the Renault Kwid churns out 67bhp@5500rpm of power and 91Nm@4250rpm of peak torque. The engine of both the vehicles comes mated to 5-speed automatic transmission.
Entertainment – Maruti Suzuki Celerio X vs Renault Kwid
While the Renault Kwid gets 7-inch MediaNAV touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, the Maruti Suzuki Celetio X gets an integrated 2DIN Audio system with CD player and Bluetooth connectivity. Renault Kwid comes equipped with 2 speakers whereas the Maruti Celetio X gets 4 speakers for better sound output.
