The facelift version of Maruti Suzuki’s premium sedan Ciaz has been recently spotted testing in India. As most of the automakers are introducing updated/new versions of their models at the upcoming auto expo 2018, it appears, the largest car manufacturer in India, Maruti Suzuki is also preparing to showcase its new, facelift variants of models at the 201 Auto Expo in Delhi. In addition to the next generation Swift, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift will be a major attraction for auto enthusiasts at the expo.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift spotted testing in India
It has been reported that the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is all set to receive a facelift. The current version of the premium sedan from the automaker has been in the Indian auto market for about four years. In the segment, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz directly rivals Honda City and Hyundai Verna. Both the competitors have recently received a facelift and it is high time for the largest carmaker in India to bring in the facelift version of the Ciaz to retain its sale volume in the market. The carmaker is expected to introduce the new Ciaz with a redesigned cabin, new bumper and headlights, updated styling and features. While the launch date has not been confirmed, the premium sedan from Maruti is expected to be showcased at the upcoming auto expo in the national capital.
One good product after a journey of fails
The Ciaz has been one of the successful products from Maruti Suzuki stable as similar products from the Indo-Japanese carmaker had failed to attract consumers in the past. Some of these models include the SX4, Baleno sedan and the premium sedan Kizashi. All these vehicles failed to have a long-lasting effect in the segment. With Ciaz the automaker was able to capture a significant share of the C-segment in the sedan segment.
Features and specifications of the new Ciaz facelift
The spotted vehicle reveals the front section of the sedan. Though the sedan has been spotted with heavy camouflage and most of the features are covered yet it appears that the car gets a new grille pattern. In front facet, another change is the headlamps, though the lamps look similar to the outgoing model yet the facelift is expected to get new LED DRLs (daytime running lamps) and projector headlamps. Another visible change would be redesigned front and rear bumpers.
