New Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Gets Crossover Like Styling | Unveiled At Auto Expo 2018

The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will get meaner design cues to compete with the compact SUVs in India

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is one of the most value for money cars in the Indian car market right now but is struggling to bring in numbers due to tough competition. The compact SUVs have been eating into the sales of the car which has started to show its age. Although the Ertiga has the option to seat seven, it is the tougher looking SUVs that the Indian customers have grown affectionate to. The sales of all the MPVs has taken a hit and as a result cars like the Honda Mobilio, Nissan Evalia and Toyota Innova have either been discontinued or moved to a different segment.

All this is bound to change with the launch of the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga which might be showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 Delhi NCR.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Will Look Meaner This Time Around

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga when introduced was a conventional MPV and offering nothing in terms of looks other than the option to seat seven. However, with the changing dynamics in the Indian car market, the car is getting refreshed styling. Maruti Suzuki is rumoured to make the new Ertiga more butch and meaner this time around with a crossover like the styling. There will be LED inserts on both the front headlamps and tail lamps with a larger bumper and black cladding all around the car.

Experts believe that the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga might be a tad longer this time around, thus offering more space on the inside. Mechanically the engines are expected to be carried over from the previous generation but if the rumours turn out to be true then we might get to see a more powerful 1.5-litre petrol as well. Maruti Suzuki’s new lighter heartect platform suggests that the new Ertiga will return more fuel efficiency as compared to the previous generation.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Price in India and Launch Date

The all new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga might be showcased at the Auto Expo this week and a launch later this year is likely to happen. The car used to compete with the Toyota Innova, Honda Mobilio and Nissan Evalia earlier but now only the Renault Lodgy is present in the competition. The new facelift might help Maruti Suzuki to bring back the lost glory of the Ertiga. Toyota increased the prices of the Innova with the Crysta facelift and we hope the same does not happen with the Maruti MPV. Expect the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Price India to be marginally higher than the current car by up to 50,000 Rupees.
