Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 Facelift is hands down the most anticipated launch of the year and after months of teasing, the car is finally launching in India at the 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi. The compact sedan Dzire based on the same hatchback was launched last year and it was expected that the Swift was launched simultaneously. However, it looks like Maruti Suzuki is finally ready for the launch and the company has shared a few details about the 2018 Swift. The third generation Swift will come in eight different variants and at least four of them will have an optional Automatic Gearbox.
4 Variants Of New Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 Will Have An Automatic Gearbox
Maruti Suzuki has revealed that the Swift when launched at the Auto Expo in New Delhi will come in eight variants. It is likely that the nomenclature will be as the previous model which is seen on all Maruti cars in India except the Nexa models. The variants will be Lxi/Ldi, Vxi/Vdi, Zxi/Zdi and Zxi+/Zdi+ of which the Vxi/Vdi and Zxi/Zdi are expected to get automatic gearboxes. With this move Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 Facelift is trying to bank upon the Indian customers from urban cities who have been warming up to the automatic variants off late.
Maruti Suzuki Swift will come with the existing set of engines – the 1.3-litre Fiat sourced diesel and a 1.2-litre petrol. However, there is a possibility that the company adds the 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine from the Baleno RS to the line up at a later date. The diesel hybrid from Ciaz can also be integrated into the Swift which is rumoured to make 32 kilometres to a litre.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Brings Features From Bigger Marutis
The competition in the hatchback segment in India is extremely tough and the Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 is expected to come loaded with features to stay ahead of the rivals. The large infotainment seen on the Ciaz and Brezza makes way to the Swift as well and comes with Apple Carplay and Android Auto along with Mirrolink functionality.
The buttons and switches on the door panel are carried from the previous generation but the steering wheel on the Swift is all new with a flat bottom which is a first for Maruti Suzuki. ABS, EBD, Brake Shift and dual airbags at the front are some of the safety features that will offered as standard across the range.
