Lighter body weight aids in generating more power 

The next-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift 2018 is powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel motors. While the petrol variant produces 83bhp and 115Nm of torque, the diesel variant churns out 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Both the engines are offered in both manual as well as automatic transmission option. The new Swift comes mated to a 5-speed transmission both in manual gearbox and automatic option.

The overall weight of the new Swift is lighter than the previous model and hence the power is better than the second generation model.  In terms of top speed and acceleration, while the petrol variant claims a top speed close to 180km/h the diesel variant claims 160km/h of top speed. Both the variations are due to the light body and nimble chassis of the next-gen Swift.

More Mileage, Better Features 

The third generation Swift 2018 offers more mileage and better feature than the second generation. In terms of mileage, while the petrol variant returns an average mileage of about 21km/l, the diesel unit claims an estimated mileage of 26km/l.

The new Swift 2018 by Maruti Suzuki offers more luggage space and has about 60 litres more space than the previous model. The new Swift is wider and offers more cabin space and ground clearance than the previous model. It gets an all-new dashboard, infotainment system, headlights, bumper, side design, LED DRLs, console and better safety features.

Better suspension offers better Ride!

As per the reports, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift offers a more mature ride. There has been an overall improvement in ride quality and comfort. The upgraded suspension absorbs minor potholes and undulations with ease.

Some of these features coupled with the price of the car, makes the new 2018 Swift a tough contender to become the best hatchback of India.
