Completely fresh and attractive appearance – New Swift

The Indo-Japanese car maker has done a stellar job with the overall design of the much anticipated 2017 Swift. It has not only managed to retain the overarching design language of the current model of Swift but it has also added adequate bits and pieces to the design to ascertain that the all-new Maruti Swift stands out from all its previous generations. The new Swift retains the iconic curvaceous shape but gets a completely new makeover. The noticeable new headlights, nose and tail-lights are surely the most visible features of the all-new Maruti Suzuki Swift.

Under the hood of the India-spec next-gen Maruti Swift

As per the report, the all-new India-spec Maruti Swift will continue to carry the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine which is currently being used in the existing model, it is expected that the diesel engine might get tuned to churn out more power.

It is also being reported that the company is planning to replace the existing 1.3-litre diesel engine with a new 1.5-litre diesel engine. Apart from this, the all-new India-spec Maruti Swift is likely to get the automatic options in both the petrol as well as the diesel unit.

New Maruti Suzuki Swift has Lighter and sturdier chassis

The all-new Maruti Swift is being built on the same Baleno platform. It has been reported that the new Swift will be 10-15 per cent lighter. Reduction in weight will assist the new Swift to perform better than the existing model and offer better fuel economy over its premium sibling.

The new platform is also 10 per cent stronger than the current one. Besides being lighter and stiffer, the next-gen Maruti Swift will also feature wider axle tracks. The new Maruti Swift carries several features that make it fun to drive.

Sporty and upmarket interiors

The cabin of the upcoming next-gen Maruti Swift will be sportier and classy than the current model. The dashboard has been updated as the new Swift gets an upmarket steering wheel beside the sporty, two-pod instrument cluster.

It is expected that the India-spec model of the new Swift will carry a different interior layout. The fully-loaded variants of the new Swift is likely to get touchscreen infotainment system equipped with Apple CarPlay as well as MirrorLink capability. It might also get paddle-shifters.

The cabin of the new Swift is reported to be more spacious than the current model of the Swift. The new Swift will have more legroom as the overall cabin space has been increased to 25 per cent.

All set to be unveiled in the Auto Expo 2018

The new Swift will be placed below the hot hatchback Baleno and is expected to be revealed in India at the Auto Expo 2018. The much-awaited car from Maruti – the next-gen Swift is likely to hit the Indian market soon after the official reveal. The new swift will compete directly with rivals like the Ford Figo, Hyundai Grand i10, Volkswagen Polo and Tata Tiago.
