Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is currently the only SUV (a compact one at that) in the company’s catalogue in India and it has been selling like hot cakes since its launch. The car is available only in its diesel variant for now and still managed to find more than 11,000 buyers in the month of December last year. However, the decreasing difference in the prices of Petrol and Diesel in India has made the customers grow affectionate towards Petrol powered vehicles which are generally cheaper by up to 1.5 Lakh Rupees. Well if the rumours are to be believed then Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will debut with a Petrol variant at the Auto Expo next week along with 17 other cars that are reported to be showcased at the event.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol Variant Might Lure In the Urban Customer
The diesel cars like the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza in the Indian market grew to be the popular choices due to the gigantic difference in the prices of Petrol and Diesel fuels. However, over the years this difference has been diminishing gradually to a point that today the Petrol is expensive by a mere 8 Rupees than the Diesel. The Indian car buyer now finds it harder to justify the premium of 1.5 Lakh Rupees for Diesel powered vehicles and therefore looks to cars like the Tata Nexon or the Ford Ecosport instead of Maruti Suzuki’s diesel only Vitara Brezza.
There is no official confirmation of the news and all it remains to be is just a rumour so we suggest you take this with a pinch of salt. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been long anticipated to come with a Petrol variant and this just seems like the perfect time to do that since the newer cars like the Ford Ecosport and the Tata Nexon have been trying to one up the Brezza with their long list of features.
Price and Launch Date of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol
Maruti Suzuki is expected to showcase as much as 18 cars at its huge stall (4200 square feet) at the Auto Expo and the petrol powered Vitara Brezza might be one of them. The highlight of the event for the company is going to be the launch of the 2018 Swift Facelift which has been long overdue for almost a year now. However, if the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol variant does make it to the show then we believe the company will price it at least 1 Lakh lower than the diesel variant.
