According to reports, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R has successfully reached 2 million sales milestone. Maruti Suzuki’s Wagon R is the third car from the carmaker that has reached this sales milestone. Other two cars that have succeeded in achieving this milestone include the Maruti Suzuki Alto and the Maruti 800, that has been now discontinued by the company.
Wagon R by Maruti Suzuki is one of the cars that has retained its position in the top 10 selling passenger cars in India for several years.

Speculations are that Maruti Suzuki is working on a complete model change for the Wagon R. Though the company has not revealed any such information but as per reports, the new Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is expected to be launched in 2018 or 2019. Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is available in petrol and CNG variants.
Power and other features of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R runs on a 1.0-litre petrol unit. This petrol engine churns out 67bhp on and 90 Nm of torque. Besides the petrol engine, the CNG variant of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R produces 58bhp and 77Nm of torque on CNG.
The engine of both the variants of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Thought recently, Maruti Suzuki introduced the option of AMT in Wagon R. This option is only available on the VXi and VXi+ variants of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R.
