Premium Italian luxury car manufacturer, Maserati, has divulged that it is all set to launch the India-bound Levante. As per reports, the Maserati Levante SUV was exhibited in Delhi earlier this month and is slated to be launched in Indian by the ending quarter of this year. With a boom in the SUV segment, numerous international car manufacturers are exploring various opportunities in the Indian automobile market and Maserati’s Levante SUV will be a great offering from the company to endeavour in the Indian market.
Specifications of the Maserati Levante SUV to be launched in India
The India-spec Maserati Levante SUV is likely to be launched with a host of features on offer. Some of the attractive features that the Maserati Levante SUV is likely to get include adaptive cruise control, large touchscreen infotainment system, three-spoke steering wheel and twin-pod instrument cluster.
In terms of safety, the Maserati Levante SUV will get advance safety features such as the ESP (Electronic stability program), ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (Electronic brakeforce distribution). As per the report, the India-spec Maserati Levante SUV will be powered by a 3-litre turbocharged, V6 diesel engine. The diesel unit will produce 271bhp and 600Nm of torque. The turbocharged diesel engine will come mated to 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The ‘Q4’ intelligent all-wheel drive system will equally distribute power in all the four wheels and will assist the Maserati Levante SUV to sprint from 0 (Zero) to 100km/h in just less than 7 seconds. The India-spec Maserati Levante SUV will be able to touch a top seed of 230km/h.
Competition for the Maserati Levante SUV in India
From the stable of Maserati, Levante will be the first SUV to enter the Indian market. Maserati is known for manufacturing premium sports cars and super sedans and it has high hopes from the Indian market. The SUV segment in Indian is booming and Maserati is banking upon the increasing popularity of the SUVs in the country and it believes that the premium SUV Levante could be a successful product for the Indian market from Maserati. Post its launch, the Maserati Levante is likely to rival the likes of Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS. Both the SUVs currently hold a significant share in the premium SUV segment.
