Miss Universe 2017: South Africa Bags the Crown for the First time & Here’s Where India Stand?

Miss Universe 2017 has been crowned & it’s not an Indian who bagged same. Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters won the title of Miss Universe 2017 alongside Miss Colombia Laura Gonzale as first runner-up  & Miss Jamaica Davina Bennett as the second runner-up. The winner of the Miss Universe 2017 has been announced in a lavish ceremony on Sunday at Las Vegas.

Although India kept a high hope with its Miss Universe 2017 contender Shraddha Shashidhar from Chennai after the winning of Manushi Chillar as Miss World 2017. As because in 1994 where Sushmita Sen crowned as Miss Universe and Aishwarya Rai won the Miss World title. Also in 2000, Lara Dutta & Priyanka Chopra bagged the Miss Universe & Miss World crown respectively.

About the Miss Universe 2017: Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters

Although Miss South Africa has been announced as the Miss Universe 2017, but its all beauty & brains. 22-year-old Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters has been a Bussiness Management student & also impressed the Judges during her Q&A round in the Miss Universe 2017. She was asked about the most important issue women face in the workplace & she answered that- women get on 75% of pay what men get despite spending same hours in the same work & she does not believe that it is right as we should have equal work for equal pay for all.

South Africa won the Miss Universe title for the very first time in the 39 years journey of the competition. By competing with 92 girls, only 16 girls made it in the finalists of Miss Universe 2017 from USA, Thailand, Ireland, Croatia, Canada, Philippines, Great Britain, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Venezuela, Ghana, Spain, China, South Africa, Colombia & Jamaica. And the winner of Miss Universe 2017 pageant shines out to be Miss South Africa for the very first time in the history.

And here’s where India Stood @ Miss Universe 2017 with Shraddha Shashidhar

After winning the crown of Miss World 2017 with Manushi Chillar, the whole of the India was eyed for Miss Universe 2017 with Shraddha Shashidhar from Chennai. But sadly, the girl didn’t even make it to the Top 16 of the 2017 Miss Universe competition. Hard luck for India & Shraddha Shashidhar, but hope some other girl of the country could bring it back to our country as Manushi Chillar did after 17 years of wait. We all the luck to Miss World 2017 Manushi Chillar & Miss Universe 2017 India contestant Shraddha Shashidhar for a bright future.
