Mithali Raj, the captain of Inida’s women cricket team has announced that she will be writing her autobiography next year. The much awaited autobiography will give the readers a closer look into her personal and professional life.
About Mithali raj:
The Jodhpur girl was born on the 3rd December,1982 to Doraj Raj and Leela Raj. Mithali Raj’s father was serving as an Airman in the Indian Air Force that time.
Mithali Raj is the captain of Inidan Women’s Cricket team both in tests and one day internationals. She is considered the greatest women batsmen to have ever played the game. She is the only player to have scored seven consecutive 50s in ODIs.
Mithali Raj made 114 runs in her debut One Day International against Ireland in 1999. Her test debut came in two years later in 2001 against South Africa in Lucknow. In 2002 She broke the record of highest individual test score held earlier by Karen Rolton by scoring 214 runs. Mithali Raj’s magnificent innings was played against England in the Final test at County Ground, Taunton.
Mithali Raj has led the Indian Women’s Cricket team into two world cup finals in 2005 and 2017. The Indian team however lost both the times to Australia in 2005 ane England in 2017.
Mithali Raj is the only women cricketer in the world to have scored more than 6000 runs.

The announcement of Mithali Raj’s autobiography first came in from the immensely successful publication house ‘Penguin Random House’ on Thursday. The publication house announced that they had acquired the rights to publish Mithali Raj’s autobiography. Mithali Raj later shared the same post on her social media channels.
Radhika Marwah, an Associate Commissioning Editor at Penguin Random House India, said that they were excited to publish Mithali Raj’s autobiography as she is a remarkable model to the women in India and a testament to the virtues of perseverance. She is hugely admired in the world for her work and leadership in the field. She also added that Mithali is a very grounded and introspective person in real life.
Viacom18 has also acquired the rights to make a feature film on Mithali Raj’s life.
