After more than a month, the Police finally cracked the Mohali double murder case of senior journalist KJ Singh and his nonagenarian mother, Gurcharan Kaur. The two were brutally murdered at their house in Mohali last month. A lot of speculations were being made in the double murder case as the police were clueless about the motive behind the double murder case. Senior journalist KJ Singh’s green Ford Ikon car that was missing since his murder helped the police in nabbing the murderer.
Youth arrested in senior journalist KJ Singh’s murder case
Police have arrested two youths, but claims that the youth identified as Gaurav, in his late 20s, is yet to be interrogated for his confession to the crime. The accused who hails from Bulandshahr was arrested after being intercepted on the Airport road near the Sohana gurdwara by the police. The accused was driving KJ Singh’s green Ford Ikon car with a fake number plate when the police arrested him. The car was missing since the double murder at KJ Singh’s house in Phase 3B2, Mohali in September.
According to the Indian Express, with the arrest of a native of Gaurav, a resident of Bulandshahr in UP, the Mohali police claimed a major breakthrough in the double murder case of senior journalist KJ Singh and his 90-year old mother Gurcharan Kaur. The police have claimed Gaurav’s involvement in KJ Singh and his mother’s murder. The police have also recovered the weapon from the custody that was used in the crime.
The story behind the brutal murder
As per the report, the Senior Superintendent of Police, Mohali stated that KJ Singh, who was murdered in Mohali at his residence had slapped Gaurav, the accused in the double murder case, who allegedly used to create a nuisance in a park near K’J Singh’s house in Mohali. It was also reported that the accused, Gaurav, was currently staying in Kajheri village.
The police have not yet made any major statement as Gaurav was arrested a few hours ago. As per the report, the Police are yet to interrogate Gaurav thoroughly. It was also stated that the police are yet to ascertain whether the accused Gaurav executed the murders of KJ Singh and his mother alone or he was accompanied by any of his aides.
