The New Organic Agri Market, Mohali

With an increase in the demand of everything organic, introducing an organic agriculture market in Mohali was needful. Being concentrated with a high amount of NRIs, who are really health conscious, fond and well aware of the organic food concept the state of Punjab really needed this type of concept. There are many farmers in the state that produce organic food items but have never got the right platform to promote their stuff which has great health benefits and is in high demand at present.

The Mohali Organic Agriculture Market will be launched very soon by the Mohali Deputy Commissioner, Gurpreet Kaur who played a prominent role in setting up the project at the District Administrative Complex.

Day = The market will be opened every Friday.

Time = 1 pm to 6 pm.

Venue = Room number 123 of the DAC at Sector 76, Mohali.

Products = Products like honey, pulses, jaggery, fresh turmeric and other organic items will be available at the Organic Market apart from vegetables and fruits to the consumers.

Calling In The Organic Farmers

Right now the Punjab Agriculture Department has coaxed about twelve farmers to offer their organic produce at the new market. The department is trying to convince more farmers to join the project and is hoping to bring in at least 20 more farmers by next six months. The farmers who have already become the part of the market are really thankful to the department for initiating such project and providing a great platform to the farmers like them.

The prices of all the organic items put up in the market will be set by the state agriculture department itself and will be fixed. Apart from this the administration is also looking forward to spread the awareness of organic food items across the town by setting up small booths similar to the Verka ones.
