Mohali | Upon Police Raid, Man Jumps From Eighth Floor And Dies

The police did a tremendous job and caught the man who was supplying weapons to the criminals. Unfortunately, the police could not interrogate him as he jumped from the eighth floor and died.

Tejinderpal Singh, also known as Babla died when he jumped from the eighth floor. Tejinderpal was on the wanted list by the Nabha police as he was supplying weapons to the criminals.

Tejinderpal Tried To Escape

Tejinderpal Singh also had at least three more criminal cases registered under his name. He was trying to escape from the eighth floor of a residential complex in Sector 105. The incident happened in the afternoon at Emaar MGF housing society where Tejinderpal was residing in a rented accommodation with his parents, wife and 2 children.

The Nabha police and the Mohali police conducted a raid at Babla’s residence. The SSP of Mohali said that Babla tried to escape from the eighth floor with the help of a pipeline and died. While Babla’s friend said that he fell when he was manhandled by the police officials.

How Did The Incident Happen

The Mohali SSP told that Babla and his family was present at their home when the police officials reached there. He said Babla was in his bedroom and he denied to come out and later tried to escape through the back door of his house. The SSP said that police did not even see him. While escaping, Babla fell from the eighth floor and died.

An acquaintance of Babla said that Babla’s mother opened the door when the police arrived at around 11:36 am (Time noted in the Register Entry at the main gate). He said that Babla met the police in his drawing room and said him to accompany them to the police station. Babla refused and asked for a lawyer and went inside the bedroom. Later, the police broke into his room and started pushing Babla. He said while the police were pushing him, Babla fell down and died on the way to Fortis hospital.

The police have recorded statements of his family members and eyewitnesses.

Babla’s Criminal History

Babla was in a business of supplying health supplements in a gym. The Mohali SSP said that Babla was on the wanted list by the Punjab Police. Babla’s criminal cases in the past

  • He was one of the four people who was registered in a case at the Ramdass police station
  • He was registered under Section 399 and Section 402 of the Indian Penal Code at the Majitha police station.
  • He was registered for a fraud case under Section 420 of the IPC at Fatehgarh Churian police station.
  • He also supplied weapons to some criminals
