Chandigarh has been in the news lately for murder cases. Yet another murder case in Chandigarh came to light when a 35-year old woman, resident of Mohali Phase-3B1 has been arrested for murdering her husband. This woman named Seerat Kaur shot her 40-year-old husband, Aikom Singh Dhillon who was a businessman. The crime was committed with a 9mm pistol.
The murder took place at their rented first-floor accommodation at 11 PM on Saturday. Aikom was a property dealer and the son of human rights activist Jaspal Singh Dhillon. The couple got married 12 years ago and had 2 kids. The woman did not even care about the kids and killed her husband.
Dead Body Packed In A Suitcase
Seerat Kaur, the accused shot her husband. When he died, she packed his body in a suitcase and carried it to her BMW. The intentions were to carry the body in car boot and dispose of at an isolated spot.
Kids were sleeping in the other room when she committed this crime.
How Police Came to Know About the Crime
After packing the body, Seerat Kaur came out of the house along with the suitcase and opened the boot of her BMW car. In order to lift the suitcase and put it in the car boot, she asked for help from an auto driver who was passing by on the same road.
The auto driver helped her lift the suitcase and put it in the car boot. However, he saw blood oozing out of the suitcase. He ran from the spot and informed the police about the incident.
A Police team soon reached the spot and saw the boot of BMW car open along with suitcase in it. There were blood stains on the suitcase. The police opened the suitcase and found Aikom Singh Dhillon’s body.
Seerat, Her Mother & Brother Committed the crime
Seerat, her mother Jaswinder Kaur and her brother Vinay Pratap Brar had fled from the house leaving small children at the house itself. The couple’s 10 year old son and 6 old daughter were asleep at the time of the incident.
Both the children are now with the the paternal grandparents. The police has booked seerat’s mother and brother for murder for acting as accomplices.
As per SAS Nagar’s SSP, Seerat has confessed to the crime adding that things were not going smooth between the couple.
Satinder, the couple’s landlord who stays on the ground floor said that nothing was heard when the incident took place. He told the police that Aikom and his family had shifted to SAS Nagar 15 days ago from Sector 40, Chandigarh.
