NCERT Announces Doctoral Fellowship in Education | Check Application, Eligibility & Other Details Here

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has recently made an announcement announcing the Doctoral Fellowship for all the ones who are conducting researches at the doctoral level in the field of education along with other similarly related niches. As per the announcement, there are 10 number of fellowships in total for the interested candidates to apply from.

Out of these 10, 4 are reserved for the students belonging to the Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs). These 4 Regional Institutes are located in places namely Ajmer, Mysore, Bhopal as well as Bhubaneshwar. Whereas, on the off chance, if no suitable candidate is found from the RIEs, the fellowship is likely to be offered to other eligible candidates.

All the candidates who wish to pursue the doctoral fellowship announced by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) should note that they stand clear by the eligibility criteria before applying. The candidates applying for the NCERT’s Doctoral Fellowship should possess a good record academically with a minimum of 60 percent marks in both the graduation as well as the post graduation levels. Also, the maximum age limit for candidates to apply for the Doctoral Fellowship is 35 years. The candidates having registered themselves for the PhD degree or the ones who are already pursuing it can apply too.

The candidates applying for the Doctoral Fellowship announced by the NCERT should also have either done their course of predoctoral research methodology or should have been detected for the same for an appropriate time frame which should further be approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The fellowship will only commence once the course is completed and registration is confirmed.

National Council of Educational Research and Training is known to provide the fellowship of Rs. 23,000/- per month for all the non-NET candidates and Rs. 25,000/- per month to all the NET qualified candidates. This is for a maximum time period of 3 years. The candidates will also be receiving an amount of Rs. 10,000 per annum during the stated period.

For the application procedure, the interested candidates should visit and apply on the official NCERT website that is www.ncert.nic.inApart from this, the candidates are also required to send a concept paper having 1500 words written on the proposed research. The research paper should have statements revolving around the conceptual framework, the potential contribution of the study, the rationale, and objectives along with the proposed methodology. Also, attested copies of the required certificates and mark sheets should be sent. The address to which all of this should be sent to National Council of Educational Research and Training office in New Delhi.
