NCERT to Conduct Competency Test 2018 for CBSE & State Board Students

National Council of Educational Research & Training (NCERT) has been conducting a competency test for Class 10 students for all boards including CBSE & ICSE on 5th Feb 2018. Before to the 10th board exams 2018, NCERT is all set to measure ‘the learning achievements’ of the students through the competency test. And the same will cover almost 23 lakh students, who all are going to appear in Class X board exam 2018.

From CBSE-ICSE students to all the state boards, NCERT will be assessing ‘the learning achievements’ with the competency test on Feb 5, 2018. Even the council have asked the schools to ensure the attendance of the students of Class X on 5th Feb.

Highlights of Competency Test of  Class X to be conducted by NCERT

NCERT will be conducting the Competency test for Class X students of all boards. Almost 51,200 schools from 640 districts of 29 states & 7 Union Territories will be included in the test. Be it CBSE, ICSE or state boards, Competency test conducted by NCERT will cover Class 10 students of all the educational boards. The council has rolled out a notice that atleast 45 students of from each sample schools will have to appear for the test that will be of 90 minutes.

Also, the special students for the competency test of NCERT will be provided with 30 minutes extra time to complete the test. And Class X students will be assessed over five subjects including- Maths, English, Social Science, Science and modern Indian languages.

The competency test will be conducted under the NAS (National Assessment Survey) by the NCERT along with HRD Ministry & state governments. Also during the same, the council will be assessing the ‘pedagogical interventions’ to provide with the quality education to the students. From past few years, the council has been conducting the NAS annually. Before to this, NCERT also held a test for subject & class wise learning assessment of the student nationwide on 13 Nov 2017 for Class 3, 5 & 8.
