NCERT 2019: National Council of Educational Research and Training has been planning to introduce 2 personalities in the syllabus from 2019 onwards. With making the NCERT books compulsory in Schools from the year 2019, the Council has also been adding new things in the textbooks. NCERT Books to add 2 Famous Personalities in Syllabus
According to Tripura’s CM Biplab Kumar Deb, National Council of Educational Research and Training books has been only focusing on the former Soviet Union President Joseph Stalin and Vladimir Lenin (communist leader) instead of Indian leaders. In order to bring on the change, CM has asked NCERT to compile its syllabus with a history of Indian leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, APJ Abdul Kalam, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and more.
Tripura’s CM is in talks with SCERT (State Council of Educational Research and Training) to make changes in the textbooks and make students be aware more about the Indian history from 2019. NCERT from the next academic year will bring on multiple changes and students will get to read Indian History in details from 2019 onwards.

Earlier to this, National Council of Educational Research and Training was planning to reduce down the syllabus from upcoming session 2019 by 50%. Even NCERT has asked suggestions in regards to cut down the syllabus by 50%. On one hand, NCERT is planning to reduce the syllabus but on another hand, some new chapters have to be added in the textbooks from 2019.
Although as of no official announcement has been made regarding the reduction or addition of the syllabus by NCERT for the year 2019.
