NCERT Textbooks To Include Govt. Schemes | Check Major Additions Here

The NCERT Books are undergoing changes and the inclusion of the govt. schemes is one of them.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is keen on bringing about a lot of changes in the content which is being taught to the students of Classes 6 to 12. Roughly, as many as 1,334 changes are likely to be brought about in the books which are inclusive of the additions to be made, the correction to be done as well as the addition of data in specific subjects of certain classes.

Adding to the changes, the new edition of the changed and updates National Council of Educational Research and Training books is known to witness the references of the decisions taken as well as the flagship programmes taken up by the government and much more.

Govt. Schemes To Be A Part Of NCERT Books | Check Details 

Many of the references which are now a part of the new and the updated NCERT Books for Classes 6 to 12 have been spotted by The Indian Express. An analysis of as many as 25 NCERT Books of Classes 6 to 10  was done after which it was found out that most of the changes which have been proposed and brought about are related to the different types of schemes taken and introduced by the Government in its tenure.

The much famous Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is one of the government schemes which have been introduced in the NCERT Books which is followed by the Digital India Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana on skilling as well as demonetisation, Namami Gange Programme and the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao to name a few.  The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan solely has been introduced in 5 NCERT Books. To begin with, the NCERT Books initially included the flagship schemes which were undertaken by the UPA Government.

Subject Wise Topic Addition In NCERT Books 

Various schemes which were taken under the UPA Government like the MNREGA Scheme found its place in the Economics book for teaching the students of Class 11. Apart from that, the National Food Security Act of 2013 has been added to the Economics Book of Class 9 and the topic of Right To Information Act finds its place in the book for Political Science for the students of Class 10.

Broadly, the changes have been made in subjects like Political Science, Economics, General Science, Geography as well as the English language also.
