NEET 2018 | Aadhar Card Not Mandatory To Apply Online
In a recent update released by the apex court, SC has ruled out the Aadhar card norm from the NEET 2018 online application process. Many candidates fell debarred from applying for the medical entrance exam due to non-availability of Aadhar cards with them.
Some candidates belonging to certain states were already exempted from the NEET 2018 Aadhar card compulsion norm. Candidates belonging to other states raised objections as they felt their rights were affected as they were not able to fill the NEET 2018 online application forms this year.
Central Board of Secondary Education had released NEET 2018 forms for candidates with a detailed notification wherein Aadhar card was initially made mandatory to apply online. SC dismissed the norm as it lead to wide stage protests by students who felt devoid of their rights. Many students faced issues even after applying for the Aadhar card in enrolling for the test.
SC has finally stated that Adhaar card shall not be made mandatory for all such national level exams in their application process. For students who wish to pursue medical sciences education in veterinary courses or from foreign universities abroad shall also have to take NEET 2018 as a compulsory exam. The online application forms for the NEET 2018 exam are available on the official CBSE website at cbseneet.nic.in online. Central Board of Secondary Education which is the conducting body for NEET exam on May 6, 2018 this year shall deactivate the online application process link by tomorrow.
The last date to apply for the NEET 2018 medical entrance exam is March 12, 2018 after being extended by the authorities. Candidates are advised to carefully go through the detailed official notification available at the aforesaid website for the NEET (UG) 2018 exam online.
Candidates now do have a sigh of relief as many have been allowed to apply for the exam, especially those who were previously debarred from doing so. Even ‘Open school candidates can also apply for NEET 2018’ exam,but is still unclear if they would be really allowed to take the same.
