NEET 2018 exam notification which was expected to be out on Feb 1, 2018 by the aspirants from CBSE on official website at cbseneet.nic.in online has been delayed by almost a week with no official update or word available from the conducting authorities of the same. This becomes a moment of deja-vu as remembering NEET 2017 and its timeline of controversial events and subsequent delays that followed.
This is nothing new to the aspirants of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE for students aiming to gain admissions into undergraduate courses like MBBS in various medical colleges of repute. Last year, similar trend pertaining to the conduct of CBSE NEET exam was observed causing havoc in the minds of many students. With this years’ delayed NEET 2018 exam notification, it is highly expected to be out with application forms soon.

As expected to be out on the CBSE external link of the NEET exam which is National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination on February 1, 2018 like last year,the same has been delayed by the conducting body of Central Board of Secondary Education which hold the NEET UG exam annually. Also, as speculated to be the cause of the delayed notification by the official body this year by leading media sources like Times Now stated that the cap of age limit fixation on NEET 2018. This norm introduced by Medical Council of India for upper age limit for taking NEET UG test to be 25 years for Unreserved category candidates and relaxation of 5 years for reserved category candidates making it 30 years for them. Also, if this becomes the reason for the delay of the NEET 2018 exam notification, this could be extended further as no official word from the authorities is out yet.

With shocking and awful events that gripped the NEET 2017 examination last year ranging from its disgraceful code of conduct to subsequent delays in result declaration, candidates are requested to check the same here. The humiliating act in the name of frisking for NEET 2017 exam in Kerela asked one of the girls to remove her bra as the hooks signalled the metal detectors to one of the girl aspirants who had to change her tights at the exam hall. This followed impersonation cases caught in Bihar while paper leak & cheating cases from Jaipur & Delhi regions in NEET exam last year.
Re-tests for some 230 odd students and difficult questions for NEET exam in vernacular languages like Bengali over other exams were some disputed cases which then led to delay in NEET 2017 exam result declaration and counselling session last year as Supreme Court withheld the result while students demanded scrapping of the test. Moreover, last minute introduction of NEET 2017 for admissions over state common entrance exam leading to a girl aspirant taking her life further added controversy to the mismanagement and code of conduct of exam.
