NEET 2018 official update by CBSE is available on its official website at cbseneet.nic.in online. Aspirants who wish take the NEET 2018 exam this year in May are iterated to carefully go through the detailed information brochure & admission notice online. With ongoing NEET 2018 online application procedure for candidates to apply for the prestigious medical admission examination, the CBSE norm which has debarred thousands of candidates from taking the test has distressed many. NEET 2018 (Official) Update | Age Limit Chaos For NEET Aspirants, Know Details 

While on one hand Central Board of Secondary Education as a conducting body of NEET exam every year has not allowed applicants without Aadhar Card to apply for the test, the restriction imposed on upper age limit has definitely added fuel to the fire. The aspirants are imposed with certain restrictions on the age limit criteria as one of the aspects of the NEET 2018 exam eligibility criteria. The minimum age limit to apply for NEET exam is 17 years while this is not a problem, the upper age limit restriction has certainly distressed and debarred many from taking the test.

The upper age limit to apply for the NEET 2018 exam online has been limited to 25 years. This restriction was not enough that the number of attempts are also restricted for applicants of NEET 2018 exam. Check details about the same on official NEET 2018 exam notice online.

NEET 2018 | Open School & Other Candidates Debarred From Taking Exam

Candidates who are currently pursuing their Class 12th exams from Open School board i.e. NIOS students are also debarred from taking the NEET 2018 exam. Marking Class 12th exam and PCB aggregate criteria of minimum marks as qualifying criteria, this drastic change revision has debarred thousands of NEET 2018 aspirants from taking the exam because of their open school board issue.

Also, many other candidates who opted for Biology and Biotechnology as their additional subjects in higher secondary classes are also not allowed to take NEET exam. Regular students from recognised boards with Biology/ Bio-technology as their optional subjects are debarred from appearing for NEET exam in May 2018.

Also, in recent developments Delhi High Court has allowed two open school & candidates beyond upper age limit criteria mentioned above to APPLY ONLY for NEET exam. This does not mean they can sit for the exam as the decision remains pending and verdict of the same shall be released next month, in April first week. A sigh of relief for those who were fearing deadline of NEET 2018 online application process.
