Why will NTA conduct JEE & NEET exam two times in a year
The reason behind conducting the JEE and NEET by the NTA is to give away opportunities to the candidates appearing for these test to give their best shot. More than 40 lakh candidates who wish to appear for the NEET and JEE 2018 will benefit from the decision of conducting these entrance examination twice a year. Other than the students, also NTA will relieve other examination agencies from the burden of scheduling, conducting of exams and later on checking the papers on a larger scale.
Earlier, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) used to conduct the NEET and JEE examinations but due to overburdened exercises round the year, the board had expressed its inhibitions to the HRD ministry. Lately, on the directions of the HRD ministry, an autonomous body, National Test Agency is formed who will now carry out competitive exams like NEET, UGC NET, JEE, CTET and tests for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas from 2018. It is also speculated that soon NTA will take over on other entrance tests like IITs, IIMs and AICTE as the government of India envision single body for conducting all sorts of entrance test across the country.
