Chandigarh, March 17, 2017: INIFD Chandigarh student Neha Arora’s collection created ripples in British Fashion world taking Chandigarh to the International Fashion circuit. Neha Arora beti of Himachal Pradesh, born in small town of Palampur and studying at INIFD Chandigarh carried forward the legacy showcasing as Proud Winner at Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week.
Her collection was featured prominently in British Vogue, and other leading British media.
It is for the 2nd Consecutive Season that student designers from INIFD showcased their Collection on ramp at one of the world biggest Fashion platform at Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week at London and brought laurels to the country. Proud INIFDians also gained international experience and exposure as a part of implementation team and worked with Top International Designers hand in hand.
Neha Arora is the 2nd Chandigarh designer to showcase as Proud Winner at Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week.
Neha’s inspiration for her Collection was Madhubani Paintings. Her collection was selected by the elite Jury from London and India, which was held in last week of December at London.
Neha’s Collection “An Ageless Expression” is an attempt to transform and interpret “Madhubani Paintings” in her own way to create a fusion between the past and the present.
The main motif that has been picked is “Tree of Life”. She has tried to depict the transformations in these ages which fill the gap between today and the past. Her collection is a summarization of royal and elegant silhouettes. Rich fabrics like silk and its luxurious variants have been used to create an elegant collection in Royal Colors- Yellow Ochre, Persian blue, Emerald Green, Maroon, Shades of Grey Age old techniques of block printing in golden colour with hand crafted Blocks, highlighted with very intricate and unique Indian “Zari Embroidery” (tilla and pitta work) have been used.
Neha, a graduate in Fashion Design from INIFD was the only student selected from Chandigarh who represented the Country at this prestigious event at London on 18th February 2017. For Neha journey to London Fashion Week was very challenging and exciting. It was a life changing experience for this young talented designer to get her Collection assembled.
The esteemed Mentors Ms. Priyanka Khosla celebrity designer and Mr. Joseph Toronka INIFD London mentor and jury members from London selected the 11 WINNERS which included 2 INIFD Alumni & 9 INIFD Student Designers as the WINNERS and 9 Student Designers as RUNNERS UP who showcased their Collection at the very prestigious FASHION SCOUT during LONDON FASHION WEEK on 18th February 2017 at one of the world’s major fashion capital – London, Event supported by Mayor of London. These 20 INIFD Student Designers showcased their Collection & top international models flaunted them on the ramp.
