Chandigarh is growing as the next metro city of Indian and thus is attracting a lot of investments from global businesses that eye the premium audience of the city. It all started with Fun Republic mall that was the first shopping mall of Chandigarh. The city soon saw DT Mall (DLF City Center), Centra Mall and the entire game changed when Elante came into existence.
We all know that Elante is the most premium and the biggest shopping mall in Chandigarh that attracts lakhs of people every month. North Country Mall opened in Kharar (Mohali) and it also contributed to the area development in a huge manner. But now, we have something bigger and better.
New Shopping Mall in Chandigarh
A shopping mall was into construction from the last 4 years in the IT park area of Chandigarh and this mall is almost at par with the biggest mall of North India i.e. Ambience Mall in Gurgaon. The construction has been completed and this mega mall in Chandigarh is all set to be thrown open to the public in April 2017.
With a massive front area and an excellent infrastructure in the front, this mall is simply an eye catcher. It is as beautiful from inside as it looks from the outside. The construction of the mall has been completed in 4 phases. Each phase took close to 1 year to get complete and it is in 2017 that this new mall is all set to rock Chandigarh.
Highlights of Chandigarh’s New Mall
One simple look at the mall will be enough to judge the massive infrastructure. Considering the smart city status for Chandigarh, this new shopping mall has been designed in a unique way. Here are some highlights of the mall:
- 50% of the mall outer area is built of glass.
- This gives immense sunlight in the mall and saves electricity.
- The glass used is unique & is actually unbreakable fibre.
- The glass does not allow heat to come in but only lets light pass through.
- The roof of the mall has a helipad.
- There are over 150 restaurants.
- Top floor of the mall has hotels, fitness lounge and a swimming pool i.e. open to all.
- Activities like ice skating, shooting and bowling are also expected to open here soon.
- There are total 6+1 floors of commercial space.
- 3 floors in basement are meant for parking.
Location of New Mall, Chandigarh
You might be curious to know the exact location of this new shopping mall in Chandigarh. If you drive from the Madhya Marg towards IT Park, you’ll be able to see this shopping mall on your left-hand side.
Make sure that you drive slow as the maximum speed limit on the IT park road for LMV is 55 KMPH. So keep an eye on the left-hand side and do not cross the speed limit out of curiosity to reach this new shopping mall on Chandigarh IT Park Road.

Just like Elante that stood for L & T (the construction company that built the mall), this new shopping mall at IT Park Chandigarh has been named April Fool Mall, Chandigarh by the company (Chandigarh Metro) that made you a fool.
