Automakers across the globe are equipping their product lineup with AMT variants to offer more options to the consumer as well as offering better driving experience to the customers. Here is the list of AMT variants of cars from major car manufacturers who will be launching the AMT car models in the market this year.
Swift Petrol and Diesel AMT
One of the most –anticipated hatchbacks of 2018, the next generation Swift is just a couple of weeks away from its official launch in India. The largest car manufacturer in the country will unveil the new Swift at the upcoming 2018 Indian Auto Expo scheduled in the month of February in the National capital Delhi.
The all-new Swift is likely to come with the existing engine but with tuned power. As per the report, there is a chance that the carmaker may introduce AMT transmission in both, the petrol as well as the diesel variant of the upcoming hatchback. The AMT variant of the Swift might begin a little around Rs. 6 lakhs.
Ford Figo AMT
Automaker Ford is likely to introduce a new 1.2 liter engine on the new Ford Figo facelift. The hatchback will get a 3 cylinder Dragon petrol engine which is likely to be unveiled in India this year.
As per the report, the new engine has been tuned to churn out 95 Bhp-115 Nm of peak torque. The facelift variant will get a 5-speed manual gearbox it is likely to get an AMT option as well. The AMT variant of the Ford Figo facelift is expected to be priced under Rs. 6 lakhs.
Mahindra KUV100 AMT – Petrol and Diesel
Another car in the line is the Mahindra KUV100. The homegrown automaker is expected to unveil new features in the Mahindra KUV100 facelift soon. The company is expected to introduce new updates in the car this year.
It has been reported that the carmaker is most likely planning to unveil the 5-speed AMT variants of the car on both the petrol as well as the diesel models. Price of the Mahindra KUV100 AMT is expected to start from less than Rs. 6 lakhs
Hyundai Santro AMT
The second largest car manufacturer in the country Hyundai Motor is expected to re-launch one of its successful models – the Hyundai Santro this year. The company is expected to bring in the same nameplate this year, but the new car will get an all-new design and alluring features.
While one of the expected features in the new Hyundai Santro is the 1-liter petrol engine, the other feature is the AMT transmission in the hatchback. The carmaker is expected to offer a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed AMT option as well in the hatchback. With cut-throat competition, the carmaker may introduce the hatchback with a price which is expected to be a little over Rs. 4 lakh.
Datsun RediGo AMT
Datsun RediGo 1.0 is likely to come equipped with an AMT option this year. The automaker has recently introduced the AMT variant of the Renault Kwid and it is speculated the car maker may introduce the same technology in one of its large selling product the RediGo 1.0.
The AMT variant of the Datsun RediGo 1.0 may come mated to a 5-speed unit. While the The Datsun RediGo is likely to be unveiled at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo the prices of the same may start a little above Rs. 3.60Â lakh.
