Delhi Chandigarh Shatabdi to halt at Karnal & Sonipat Stations

Shatabdi Express running between New Delhi and Chandigarh will now halt at Karnal and Sonipat railway stations. This was announced by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu who took the decision after a request from Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s side.

The Chandigarh – New Delhi Shatabdi Express with train number 12046 / 12045 is a superfast train which belongs to Northern Railway. Earlier the train had just 1 stop at Ambala but now the train will have a total of 3 stoppages on its route. The new stoppages at Karnal and Sonipat railway stations will help the residents of these 2 cities to travel to Chandigarh & New Delhi in the shortest possible time.

The New Delhi Chandigarh Shatabdi express train has a total of 11 coaches out of which 1o are AC chair car and 1 is an executive class coach.

Shatabdi Express covers the distance from Chandigarh to new Delhi in just 3 hours and 20 minutes. But with 2 more stoppages on the way, the time will increase by few minutes. The new time table will modifications will soon be released by Northern Railways.
