Home-grown automaker Mahindra has launched new XUV500 W9 variant India. Mahindra’s popular SUV – XUV 500 will now have a new variant – W9. the new W9 variant of Mahindra XUV500 will be positioned between the new XUV 500 W8 and the Mahindra XUV 500 W10 variants.
The W9 trim of the new XUV500 has been launched at Rs. 15.45 lakh. The new Mahindra XUV 500 W9 variant borrows several features from its elder sibling, the top-end Mahindra XUV 500 W10 trim.
Specifications of the newly launched Mahindra XUV500 W9 variant
The feature-loaded version of the popular XUV 500 is being offered by Mahindra at a slightly affordable price. The newly launched new W9 variant of the new XUV 500 does not get cosmetic changes as such, but the new W9 trim of the new Mahindra XUV500 comes loaded with a bunch of additional features. All the features that have been added to the W9 variant of the Mahindra XUV 500 are over the W8 variant on the XUV lineup.
The W9 variant of the new XUV 500 has been loaded with rich features such as an electric sunroof, reverse camera, Mahindra’s Ecosense Technology and other attractive features. Some of the other features that add to the appeal of the XUV 500 W9 trim include – a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, passive keyless entry and push-button start-stop function. In terms of safety, the new XUV 500 W9 trim gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with Rollover Mitigation and more.

Mechanical specifications of the new XUV W9
According to report, new XUV 500 W9 trim will be offered with the same 2.2 litre mHawk diesel engine that currently runs the XUV 500. The new XUV 500 be offered in both manual and automatic transmission option.
The diesel unit churns about 140 bhp and produces a peak torque of 330 Nm. The new XUV 500 W9 will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as well as an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic torque converter. The W9 trim is a new XUV 500 variant while Mahindra is also working on the facelift for the existing XUV500.can be seen as a move to counter the newfound popularity of the recently launched Jeep Compass.
