New Maruti Suzuki Dzire is Now The Top Selling Passenger Car in India & Here’s Why

Maruti Suzuki Dzire has clinched the top slot in list of Top Selling Passenger Vehicles In India. The new avatar of India’s compact sedan Maruti Suzuki Dzire, has become the best-selling model in India for the first time. Maruti Suzuki Dzire has taken the pole position in the month of August from its sibling Maruti Suzuki Alto.

New Maruti Suzuki Dzire the most selling car in India

According to the report, seven out of top 10 best-selling passenger vehicle models in August are from Maruti Suzuki India’s (MSI) stable. Latest data from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) also revealed that three Hyundai Motor India models made it to the list of top 10 best-selling passenger vehicle models in India in the Month of August. Launched in May this year, 26,140 units of the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire were sold in August as compared to its smaller sibling Alto that sold 21,521 units. Maruti Suzuki Alto had been the undisputed model in the best-selling passenger vehicle list in India for over a decade.

Maruti Suzuki India captures the top positions in the list

Last year in August, while Maruti Suzuki Alto sold 20,919 units, the old version of Maruti Suzuki Dzire was able to sell only 15,766 units. Maruti Suzuki India’s premium hatchback Baleno made it to the list of top 10 best-selling models in India last year itself, but the hot hatch captured the third position in August this year with 17,190 units sold. As per a report, Maruti Suzuki Baleno’s sales figures are more than double than the sale figures in the same month last year. Similarly, Maruti’s compact SUV, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, that was on the 8th position last year, stood at fourth position with 14,396 units in the month of August this year.

Maruti Suzuki India is the market leader

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd captured more than 50 per cent market share in passenger vehicles (PV) in the month of August. It was reported that the company sold 1.52 lakh cars in the month of August to secure more than 50 per cent market share in the passenger vehicle. It was also reported that the company sold 11,000 cars in the international market that boost the sales of Maruti Suzuki to reach a total of 1.63 lakh units in the month of August.

The sales of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd have seen a change in the sales trends since the launch of Maruti Suzuki Dzire. The latest launches such as Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Maruti Suzuki Dzire helped Maruti Suzuki in strengthening its market position.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire overtook the popular Maruti Suzuki Alto to top the monthly sales chart and the company believes to further increase its sales figures after the launch the 2017 S-Cross facelift which is slated to be launched on September 28.
