Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. is all set to launch the new Swift in India soon. As per reports, the next generation Swift will make its way to India in 2018. Swift hatchback had been one of the top-selling cars from the Maruti stable in India and there have been just few major changes in the Swift since its first launch but the second generation Swift had been one of the most successful cars in the segment. Maruti has already launched the new Dzire in the country earlier this year and the new Swift is believed to be the compact version of the new Maruti Dzire.
Launch Details of Maruti’s new Swift Revealed
According to the report, country’s leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. is likely to introduce the next-generation Swift hatchback in India next year. It has been reported that the new Swift will be launched in India in the first quarter of the year. The new Swift will be launched after the Auto Expo which is scheduled to be organized in February next year. The auto expo which is likely to be organized in early 2018 will see a lot of new launches in the next year. The new-gen Swift will be launched post its showcase at the 2018 auto show.
Specifications of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift
Currently the most anticipated car, the new-gen Maruti Swift, which is going to be launched in India next year after the auto expo, is likely to be offered in the petrol and diesel engine. While the petrol variant will be powered by 1.2 litre VVT engine, a 1.3 litre DDiS engine is expected to run the diesel variant of the new Maruti Swift. The Swift hatchback had captured a significant share in the segment till the launch of Maruti Suzuki’s hot hatchback Baleno. It is expected, that the new-gen Maruti Swift will retain its position in the segment and will attract the consumers of its sibling Baleno.
Difference in the next-gen new Maruti Swift
As per the report, the next-gen Maruti Swift hatchback is based on the HEARTECT platform. The stated platform is currently being utilized in the manufacturing of the new generation Maruti Dzire compact sedan that was launched earlier this year.
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback will carry approximately 50kg less weight than the outgoing model which is currently being sold in the Indian market. The reduced weight will also result in increased mileage of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback.
Though the new Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback carries the same hatchback design but it gets completely revamped front and rear section besides the fresh interiors and safety features.
