Russia is planning to sell the new MiG 35 Fighter Jet to India. But will India buy the new MiG 35 Fighter Jet? According to reports, an official claimed that the MiG-35 Fighter Jet is ‘the best’. Compared to the Lockheed Martin’s fifth-generation combat aircraft F-35, the new MiG 35 Fighter Jet is undoubtedly better. The official also stated that the new MiG 35 Fighter Jet would easily beat the American Jet in air-to-air combat.
MiG 35 Fighter Jet grabbed the Limelight in India
The MiG-35 Fighter Jet enthralled the audience at the international MAKS 2017 Air Show with breathtaking manoeuvres. The MiG-35 Fighter Jet grabbed all the limelight with its spectacular movements such as the Nesterov loop, barrel roll and the tail slide. The new MiG 35 Fighter Jet was fully Russian-made. Rostec companies such as KRET, the United Engine Corporation (UEC), and Technodinamika participated in the project.

The new MiG-35 Fighter Jet is Russia’s most advanced 4++ generation multi purpose fighter jet. MiG-35 Fighter Jet has been developed on the basis of the serial-produced MiG-29K/KUB and MiG-29M/M2 combat aircraft. What stands The new MiG-35 Fighter Jet from other fighter Jets is its technical specifications which are believed to be close to a fifth generation aircraft. The flight capabilities, defence systems, including stealth and the new weapon range of the new MiG-35 Fighter Jet makes it Russia’s most advanced 4++ generation multi purpose fighter jet. The MiG-35 Fighter Jet is light, is equipped with manoeuvrability features and is multifunctional.
Features of the New Indian Fighter Jet MiG 35
The MiG-35 fighter Jet is going to be the foremost light fighter jet to seize the supermaneuverability features. Another factor that makes the MiG-35 Fighter Jet unique is the capability of being configured with thrust-vectoring nozzles. The Fighter Jet MiG-35 is touted to be superior to the Lockheed Martin F-35. The Lockheed Martin F-35 is currently being used by the United States Air Force (USAF).
The two Klimov RD-33MK engines in the MiG-35 make this advanced Fighter Jet seven per cent more powerful than the MiG-29. In comparison to the MiG-29 that possesses a ferry range of 1,500 km without any external fuel tanks the three external fuel tanks in the MiG-35 has an increased ferry range of up to 3100 km. Besides the increased ferry range, the MiG-35 is equipped with an in-flight refueling option that enhances the ferry range of MiG-35 up to 5,400 km.
MiG-35 can carry up to 7,000 kg of payload and comes equipped with improved avionics and weapons systems. The radar system of MiG-35 can detect up to 30 targets from a range of 130-160 km from air. MiG-35 is efficient to engage with up to six targets simultaneously. The radar system in MiG-35 can detect outgoing jets up to 90 km and incoming fighter jets from 50 km.
The MiG-35 is armed with a 30-mm cannon. MiG-35 has 150 rounds of ammunition on board and what makes the new MiG-35 Fighter Jet stand poles apart from the other fighter jets, is the new on board equipment and the highclass quality of its weapons. The MiG-35’s air-to-ground, air-to-air, and ground-to-sea weapon features make it a tough and striking innovation. The MiG-35 has a climb rate of 330m/s, cupled with a maximum speed of 2,400 km/h and service ceiling of 17,500m.
