Homegrown automaker Mahindra and Mahindra is likely to unveil its upcoming model S201 soon. The unveiling of the S201 appears sometime soon as the Mahindra S201 has been recently spotted testing in India with production-ready taillamps.
It has been reported that the new vehicle from Mahindra is based on the Ssangyong Tivoli, but the S201 will not be a sub-4 metre SUV. The new vehicle from Mahindra that has been spied recently is expected to be in the last stages of testing and automaker Mahindra is most likely set to unveil the production version officially maybe next year.
New SUV from Mahindra – S201 spied testing in India
It was reported earlier that automaker Mahindra may not bring in the new SsangYong Tivoli to the Indian marker. The homegrown automaker instead of launching the SsangYong Tivoli in India is all set to introduce a brand new SUV in the country which will be based on the SsangYong Tivoli.
Currently, the company is working on the compact SUV under codename Mahindra S201. The trial product of the upcoming compact SUV has been recently spotted testing on the Indian roads again after few spied pictures of the production product went viral on the digital platform.
Production of the Mahindra S201 almost complete
If reports are to be believed, the new product from the Mahindra stable, Mahindra S201 hs been spied several times in the last about one year. Recently, the test mule of the vehicle was seen testing in India once again that confirms that the automaker is aggressively working on the new vehicle and it may soon get launched in India.
The report also suggests that the carmaker is likely on the last leg of testing of the S201. What reinstates the statement that automaker is almost in the last phase of production is that the test mule that was recently seen testing in the country was outfitted with production-ready LED taillamps.
Visible features of the Mahindra S201
The recent spied images of the test mule only reveal the rear side of the upcoming compact SUV – Mahindra S201. The new product from Mahindra & Mahindra gets a stylish pair of ‘L-shaped’ LED taillamps. Other visible features of the S201 include a rear windshield wiper, in addition to the plastic cladding for the rear bumper.
