The German automaker Volkswagen recently launched its new flagship sedan, the 2017 Passat in the country with an introductory starting price tag of Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The base price of Rs 29.99 lakh is for the Comfortline trim of the new generation Volkswagen Passat. The fully-loaded Highline trim of the new generation Volkswagen Passat has comes with a price of Rs 32.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
To bring down the cost factor, the new-generation premium luxury sedan 2017 Volkswagen Passat will be assembled in India at the German automaker’s Aurangabad facility.

The new generation Volkswagen Passat is company’s first premium sedan in the country which is based on Volkswagen’s new Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB) platform.
The previous generation Volkswagen Passat has discontinued in India about four years ago in 2013 but the new generation Volkswagen Passat has brought a whiff of fresh air for the motor enthusiasts in the country. The new generation model of the Passat looks much more premium and superior to the previous-generation Volkswagen Passat. Design of the new generation Volkswagen Passat is sharp and bold. It boasts a graceful styling alike its siblings. The new generation Volkswagen Passat also gets large 17-inch alloy wheels for a bigger and better road presence.
The new generation Volkswagen Passat gets stylish new interior with eye-catching features. The new generation premium sedan offers a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with plush features inside the cabin such as premium leather upholstery – ‘Nappa’ leather or ‘Vienna’ leather upholstery coupled with two-zone climate control. The new generation Volkswagen Passat gets a 2.0L TDI diesel engine. The four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine propels 177hp and 350Nm of torque. The diesel engine comes mated to a 6-speed DSG (A direct-shift gearbox) automatic gearbox.
