Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh is incorporating many new things in the Rose Festival 2017 that is to be held from 17th to 19th February in Chandigarh. It is for the very first time, that Newly wed couple contest has been added to the list of competitions to be held at the Rose Festival in Chandigarh.
The contest for newly wed couples has been designed to check the compatibility of the couple and has been titled as ‘Ek duje ke liye’. The contest will be held on the second day of the event i.e 18th February 2017 at (3:30 PM) in Rose Garden, Chandigarh.

Those who are interested in participating in the newly wed couple contest, have to fill an entry form that has to be collected from Rose Garden (from the leisure valley side).
- Entry forms for the newly wed couple contest will be available at Rose Garden, Sector 16.
- One can buy the form from 10th Feb to 14th Feb 2017 in between 10 AM to 5 PM.
- The couple should be a resident of tricity (Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali).
- The couple should be married in between 1st January 2016 and 1st Feb 2017.
- Rs. 1000 have to paid as registration fee for the competition.
All the participants of the ‘Ek duje ke liye’ contest have to go through a prelims round that will include traditional, casual, western and questionnaire. Only 15- 20 selected couples will be sent for the main event that is to be held on 18th Feb in the Rose Festival. The selected couples will then be trained for the final round by a professional choreographer.
Newly Wed Competition in Chandigarh | The Process
All the participants of newly wed couple contest, who have been selected for the final showdown will have to go through 3 different rounds to win the competition that will include- ramp walk in traditional attire, ramp walk in western attire and casual round with questionnaire. The panel of judges will decide the winners according to the performances.
The winner of Newly wed couple contest in Rose Festival, Chandigarh will get a chance to get a tour package to Goa. Runner-up of ‘Ek duje ke liye’ contest will win a tour package to Shimla or Nainital.
