Shimla was once again coved under a white blanket as it received heavy snowfall on 14th January 2015. This is the second time during the winter season of 2014-2015 that Shimla was covered with snow. People shivered with cold as the minimum temperature in Shimla dropped to 1 degree Celsius due to this snowfall. The whole town wore a picturesque look. Jakhoo was the first to receive the snow and the green trees on the hill were soon covered in white. Soon small snowballs started to fall at the Mall Road in Shimla. It has been reported that the low areas of Shimla also received a mild snowfall.
The weather department of Shimla had predicted snowfall around 15th Jan 2015. The current prediction says that Shimla as well as other hill stations of Himachal Pradesh might receive more snowfall in the coming days. This announcement came as a good news for the tourists who wish to see the snowfall.
Earlier this season, Shimla had received snowfall on 2nd January, 2015.

The view on Mall Road, Shimla
It started to snow on Wednesday morning and the snowfall continued for almost the whole day. Residents of Shimla and the tourists who were on the Mall Road, at that time were delighted to see the live snowfall. Some people were seen carrying umbrellas during the snowfall while others (mostly tourists) were excited and were seen catching the snowballs.
