Hyundai, the second largest car manufacturer in India has launched its next generation Verna in India. The carmaker recently unveiled the 1.4-liter petrol engine in the country. Until now, the automaker had only introduced the diesel variant of the four-wheeler. The carmaker had initially launched the Hyundai Verna 1.6-liter diesel variant at a price above the petrol version.
Next Generation Hyundai Verna (Petrol) launched in Indian
Hyundai has launched its new generation Verna 1.4-liter petrol engine in India. The automaker had only launched the 1.6-litre variant of this sedan in the country and it is one of the most sold sedans in India in the segment at this price range. Hyundai had introduced the sedan in two variants – E and EX. It is worth mentioning here that Hyundai had kept the initial price of the Verna 1.4-liter E variants at Rs 7.29 lakhs. On the other hand, the EX variant of the Hyundai Verna costs Rs. 9.09 lakh rupees (Ex showroom). The next generation Verna was launched by the carmaker in August 2017. Since its launch in India, the sedan from Hyundai has received more than 30,000 bookings. This is not all, more than 2, 00,000 people have also shown interest in the sedan car. In addition to the domestic sales, Hyundai has exported more than 10, 500 units of the Verna to the global market.
Next Generation Hyundai Verna (Petrol) cheaper by almost 2 Lakh
According to an official statement, the next generation Hyundai Verna is a super sedan. The car has been one of the most sold sedans in the country since its launch last year in August. The all-new Hyundai Verna has proven its mettle in the segment. Prior to the 1.4-liter Kappa Dual VTVT petrol engine, the next generation Verna was only available with the 1.6-litre diesel engine option. The lighter sedan offers better performance and enhanced mileage. With the launch of the lighter petrol engine, consumers will have one more variant of the Verna to choose from and it is likely to boost the sales of the car further. The Cheapest option in the Verna lineup will also come loaded with various features, much similar to the diesel engine.
Power and other under the hood specifications of the Hyundai Verna petrol
The new petrol variant of the Hyundai Verna will be priced almost Rs. 2 lakh less than the diesel variant. The petrol unit will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and will churn out 99 bhp power and 132 Nm peak torque.
