The night food street which was opened in Sector 14, Chandigarh has gone through good as well as bad times. The night food street was opened few years ago but it had to be shut down due to various reasons. Now, in 2016, once again the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh has announced that the night food street will be re-opened and this time adequate arrangements will be made to make it successful.
Chandigarh MC has announced that the night food street will be operational 24 hours a day and all 365 days a year. Earlier, the night food street was made to open in evening hours and serve food till late night. Doing away with the literal meaning of night food street, people will now be able to get food 24 hours a day.

Chandigarh Night Food Street is located in Sector 14. The exact location is near gate number 1 of Panjab University on Madhya Marg. It lies on road dividing sector 14 and sector 12, opposite the main gate of PGI hospital.
Night food street had become a major attraction in year 2009-2010. The plus point for the success of night food street was its easily accessible location (Outside PU campus and PGI hospital).

Night food street has kiosks which serve all types of food – Indian, Continental, South Indian, Chinese etc. One can opt for veg or even non-veg food. If you are not in a mood to go for a heavy meal, you may opt for light to medium snacks. Beverages like tea, coffee, juices, soft drinks, etc. will also be on offer for all 24 hours a day.
Cops will also be deployed at Chandigarh’s night food street so that no quarrels or other anti-social incidents hamper the project. The stalls have been rented out on a monthly rent of Rs. 50,000 which will go the municipal corporation of Chandigarh.
