India Gets its First Ever Transqueen | It’s Nitasha Biswas from Kolkata

Kolkata’s Nitasha Biswas has won the title of India’s first Miss Transqueen. Nitasha Biswas had participated in the beauty pageant for the transgenders of India and have declared the winner. She had been working really hard to bag the title since many years and has finally become the first Miss Transqueen India. Nitasha Biswas is 26 years old and is pursuing Masters in Business Management from Kolkata.

Nitasha Biswas from Kolkata becomes the first Miss Transqueen India

Nitasha Biswas was crowned Miss Transqueen India by Laeticia Phylliscia Raveena, the Miss Transsexual Australia 2017. A total of over 1500 transgenders from across India had participated in the beauty contest out of which only 16 could only make through the finals and represent their states. Chennai’s Ragasya bagged the position of the second runner-up while Loiloi from Manipur was crowned the first runner-up in the beauty pageant of Miss Transqueen India. 

These trans queens will represent India internationally

All three Miss Transqueens are welcomed by the people of India and across borders. In fact, the winner of the title Miss Transqueen India, Nitasha Biswas will now visit Thailand to participate in the Miss International Queen while Loiloi, the first runner-up will participate in the Miss Transsexual Australia. The second runner up of the title, Ragasya is also likely to participate in any of the International beauty pageants for transgenders soon.

On the panel of judges was India’s transgender social activist, Gauri Sawant, who mentioned that such an event is first of its kind and should be organised regularly for the empowerment of transsexuals. She also believed that beauty pageants like this will aspire the entire transgender community to go on national and international platforms and represent India with their talent.

Other panellists as judge apart from Gauri Sawant were Sushant Divgikar, former Mr Gay India, Avleen Khokhar, educator and grooming expertVarun Katyal, nutrition and beauty expert, Shaine Soni, fashion stylist and Hector Ravinder Dutt, Principal of Delhi Public School from Rohtak.
