Forming up of national Test Agency (NTA) was a welcoming decision by the government of Indian to conduct all sorts of national level entrance exam for the higher educational institutions. NTA is now directed to take over and conduct all the entrance examinations which were till date done by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for admission in higher education institutes across India.
How NTA is good for students
NTA is an autonomous body that is self-sustained for conducting any such examinations like National Eligibility- cum- Entrance Test (NEET), Joint Entrance Examination (JEE ) Main, University Grants Commission (UGC) National EligibilityTest (NET) and others. The reason behind constituting NTA was to reduce the burden of CBSE and AICTE from conducting entrance examination and letting them focus entirely on their core functions more efficiently.
Lately, NTA has announced to conduct JEE and NEET online examination twice in a year from 2018, with an intent of lowering down the challenges and pressure on the candidates appearing for it. This centralized examination system enables students to take up an examination that is set on the standardized format across India for all at the same time. No other testing system on various state levels will be involved and this will help over 40 lakh candidates across India who appear for any of these above-mentioned entrance examination every year.

However, other than NTA, now CBSE will have the freedom to innovate its curriculum. Also the decision of conducting JEE and NEET two times in a year will set pace amongst students for their preparations without dropping a year. Earlier, many candidates had to waste a year as the NEET and JEE were conducted in the month of April and May right after the class 12 board examinations. It will now bring in the reliability of maintaining high standards, assessment of the aptitude and ability to solve the problem through NTA.
NTA has just received all sorts of approvals from the government of India and is expected to begin its operations before the end of the first quarter of 2018.
