A job in government sector is thought to be a blessing by those who are working in private sector and we all have a conception in our mind that people in government jobs do not work efficiently. However, things are a bit different in Chandigarh.
Chandigarh has always been on the forefront of introducing new things in the system and this time, they have taken steps to make sure that people working at UT Secretariat in Sector 9 reach office on time. Chandigarh administration has taken a strict action against late comers in order to make employees reach office at time.
Late Comers & Their Punishment
Taking into account the records of late comers, Administration has ordered the concern authorities to take a strict action. These include:
- Their names would be highlighted.
- Deduction of Salary.
Punctuality is important when it comes to office work especially when an office deals with public. Taking a note of late comers, Chandigarh Administration has finally taken this step to deduct salaries of government employees in the city. The nodal officer has been ordered to monitor the attendance and submit the report on a regular basis each morning.
The step has been taken with an aim of improvising the work culture at Chandigarh’s UT Secretariat. The authorities have received several complaints in the past about officials not present on desk or coming late to office. This new initiative of salary deduction will surely help improve the overall work & even make the residents happy.
Almost all the Private companies have been following such rules about punctuality from early times. The initiative is an excellent one. Chandigarh has always set an example for others to follow and we hope that this should be followed Pan India irrespective of the state government and designation.
