A 26-year old Ola Cab driver has been arrested by the Panchkula Police on charges of Raping A 19-year-old disabled girl. The incident happened on Thursday night. The accused (Ola Cab Driver) took the 19-year-old girl to the room and gave her intoxicants and then raped her. Reacting to the incident, the Ola Spokesperson said that the accused Ola Cab Driver was not on the duty when the rape incident of girl happened.
19-Year Old Girl Rape in Panchkula – What Exactly Happened
The accused who raped the 19-year-old girl has been identified as Kamal also known as Kunal. He is from Nayagaon. According to the SHO of Women Police Station, Rajesh Kumari, the victim girl is a resident of Sector 23 Chandigarh. The victim works in a private company and is also completing her graduation. The parents of the victim girl complained that their girl became friends with the Ola cab driver about two weeks ago after travelling in his cab.
Thursday night, the accused picked up the girl from Chandigarh in his cab and took the girl to a hotel in Sector 5, Panchkula. After that, the accused took the girl to a room and then gave her intoxicants and raped her. She was subconscious at the time of the rape. After that the accused, the Ola Cab Driver dropped the girl in the front of her home and drove away. The victim was not in her senses that time.
The victim parents approached the Police Station on Friday Afternoon and filed a complaint. According to the SHO, the medical examination of the girl had confirmed the rape. The accused Ola Cab driver was arrested on Saturday evening and has been booked under the Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code.
The local court has sent the accused ola cab driver to a three-day remand. Ola has also blacklisted the accused cab driver. About the incident the Ola Spokesperson said in an official statement that we regret the bad and unfortunate experience and condemn the incident, There is no tolerance to this kind of behaviour and the driver has been blacklisted from the Ola Platform.
