OnePlus 3 and 3T Gets Android Oreo Update via Open Beta

With news surfacing online about OnePlus testing the new Android Oreo in the OnePlus 3 and 3T in a closed beta program, the magnificent phone maker is now all set to release the Android  8.0 open beta ROM update for the OnePlus 3 and 3T owners. OnePlus has released the OxygenOS Open Beta 25 for the OnePlus 3 and Open 16 for the OnePlus 3T to help users upgrade to Android Oreo. Apart from the OS upgrade to Orea, the users also get the September’s security patch. OnePlus being the first company to publicly release the Oreo update on any device, assures that one can use the OxygenOS Open Beta 25 OxygenOS Open Beta 25 for the daily driver despite some small issues and bugs as the update is still in the beta stage. To get the open build of Android Oreo on your OnePlus 3 and 3T, you need to flash it manually on your device.

Also, according to some reports, it is believed that the OnePlus 5 will also get the OxygenOS updates for the upgrade to Android Oreo through the Over-the-Air (OTA) ‘incrementally’. The company, in a statement, has promised that a broader rollout will start in a few days.

In its forum, OnePlus has promised the users to find features such as picture-in-picture mode, autofill, smart text selection, and notification dots with the Android Oreo update. Additionally, the latest September security patch update fetches the users, a number of bug fixes to the operating system along with better optimizations across the system. OnePlus claims that this new update improves the launch speed of the apps along with optimized adaptive brightness.  With the above changes in its system and launcher, OnePlus has also assured its Android Oreo update for its flagship Oneplus 5 to be released very soon. With the release of the update, OnePlus has also acknowledged some known issues such as a slower fingerprint sensor, no shortcut access to Google Photos, and stability issues with NFC and Bluetooth.
