We brought you the news a while ago that Oneplus was readying the launch of the highly anticipated device Oneplus 5T on November 5. That picture of the invite was apparently tempered with and Oneplus confirmed that the invite was fake. That, however, did not stop the leaks and the latest one by a Chinese website Weibo has finally revealed the design and the tagline of the Oneplus 5 successor Oneplus 5T. The image appears to be a part of the slideshow for the launch event. The picture leaked by Weibo shows the Oneplus 5T in full glory with the text “Larger Screen, Same Footprint”.
Features of the Oneplus 5T
The T iteration of the Oneplus portfolio is very similar to the ‘S’ line up from Apple. There are no design changes and only a minor specification bumps. Last year’s Oneplus 3T was a successor to the Oneplus 3 and had no design overhaul, just the specification jump offering better memory and processor. We were expecting Oneplus 5T to do the same but it seems like the company is keen to join the bezel less bandwagon sooner than that. The Oneplus 5T is now confirmed to feature a bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG V30.
The phone will now have narrower bezels and hence will not sport a home button on the front. The home button of the Oneplus 5T has now moved to the back of the device like the LG V30 which also houses the fingerprint sensor. The notification slider is retained on the left of the device and the dual cameras also make a comeback. We sincerely hope through the cameras of the Oneplus 5T feature OIS this time around. Overall the dimensions of the phone will be exactly the same like the Oneplus 5.
Price and Launch Date of the Oneplus 5T
The event invite of November 5 turned out to be fake but we expect the Oneplus 5T to launch in November itself. This is to keep in line with the fact that the Oneplus 3T was also launched on November 15 last year. The pricing of the Oneplus 5T will be very similar to that of the Oneplus 5. Expect it to cost two thousand Indian Rupees more than the outgoing Oneplus 5 which by the way is already out of stock in most markets and there is no word on when it will be back in stock.
